After my long early afternoon of smoking in Twitterland, I took a nap. At least, it was supposed to be a nap. I woke up at 11pm -- damn, damn, damn. Knowing I was going to be up for a bit, I figured I'd try to make it until the Magic Hour before going back to sleep until I needed to get up for my day tomorrow. I got some work done, ran to the store for some late night eats, and got home at about 4:00am. I figured it was going to be another solo session for me, but when 4:20am rolled around, I was happy to be joined by Twitter friend theunabonger. What a great name -- I've got to start keeping track of all these great Twitter names. I checked his profile and he's local -- in Olympia, Washington, about an hour south of here -- my first Twitter session with someone from the same state as mine! . Maybe we can connect in person sometime -- I hope so. I put on some music via blip.fm, and started working on today's posts. You can, as always, enjoy the music below, or subscribe to the feed!Saturday, November 29, 2008
420 #78 (AM) First Time In-State Twitter Session With The Unabonger!

420 #77 (PM) Three-for-Four in Hitting All US Timezones for 4:20pm Today!
It's been a long day, so far! I woke up strangely early -- 8am -- and just kind of got going for no reason other than I couldn't sleep anymore. I got a bunch of work done on blog posts, and when 4:20pm rolled around in the East, my Twitter friend 420thoughts asked people to join her session. She joins me often, and I was ready for another bowl after my wake-n-bake. My appointment from Wednesday had been canceled via e-mail - score! An hour later in Central Time, 420webdev took a pause for the cause, so I took a bong rip with him. It then occurred to me that I might actually be able to puff with someone in all the major United States time zones -- if I could just find someone in Mountain Zone!
No luck -- I took a bong rip in their honor at 3:20pm my time. And when my turn here in the West finally came around, there was plenty of support in Twitterland: JPLS and Joshb22 both joined me for the session, two folks I officially met online today. Josh and I had a brief discussion on Volcano vs. Vapezilla -- I've never tried the Vapezilla, so I'll have to do that before I make a decision. Welcome to the 420 Sessions Family, guys!No tunes during the official session, at least not blipped by me. I had been blipping all morning, so I decided to just listen to other people's choices and save the best for a later session. And now, I think it's time for a nap...

420 #75 (PM) Stuck in Traffic? Cancel Your Appointment and Head Home for 4:20!
This was the view of traffic just minutes after I took my 420 bong rip this afternoon. I was in my car on my way to a 4:30pm appointment and had left the house at 3:30pm in the interest of being safe. By 4:10pm, I was still not even close to getting to the freeway, lot alone onto it. One phone call later and I was on my home with my appointment rescheduled for Friday at 4:30pm. Perfect!
I made it home with a minute to spare -- just enough time to rally some troops on Twitter. Matt Mernaugh (@Mernahuana on Twitter) and I have missed connecting in the past, but both made it for today's session. Matt also contacted me very early on regarding reciprocal links, and I always appreciate being listed in his Media Directory.I played a ton of music today after my hits, but I won't embed them all, just a few choice favorites from the hour or so of tunes. If you like the music, be sure to subscribe to the blip.fm feed so you can follow along with what we play when we play it!
420 #74 (AM) Successful Video Bong Rip in 12 Seconds with Funky-Groovy Blips
It's alot harder than it looks to start the camera, flick the lighter, fill the bong, pull the smoke, hold it AND exhale all in 12 seconds! My first attempt last night was okay, but I didn't quite make it to the exhale before I ran out of time. Tonight, I was determined to get better results.
Also, many thanks to blip.fm user frominterzone for hipping me to one of the funkiest tracks I've ever heard. As he put it, "it gets like unlistenably funky", so check out the blips from the session below, including the aforementioned "I Am the Black Gold of the Sun" by Rotary Connection!

420 #73 (AM) First 420 Session on 12seconds.tv - Bong Toke Break from "Vantage Point"
I haven't been happy with how my video attempts have turned out in the past, but when I found 12seconds.tv I thought I might have the right tool. I checked out the site a week ago, and tonight seemed like the right night to try it out, quiet as it usually is at 4:20am. Plus, I wouldn't have to worry about my identity being compromised for more than 12 seconds!
I was writing up the posts from the last 24 hours and doing some work on other blogs, and I needed a break after two hours of typing. I threw "Vantage Point" in the DVD player -- my roommate recently rented and has it until tomorrow, so I needed to get it in tonight if I was going to get to watch it. Pretty exciting I must say -- as my roommate described it, "it's like 24, but with a slightly different storytelling style" -- and I was getting so into the flick I almost missed the Magic Hour! But I made it -- I recorded it at 4:20am on the money, but for some reason their server says 4:55am. I call bullshit! Enjoy the video below -- sorry I didn't quite make it to the exhale...

420 #72 (PM) Picture from the Road from Twitter Session
Wow, literally woke up twenty minutes before 4:20pm today! I've been on a roll lately with staying regular with meeting the Magic Hour and since I had some nice new herb from yesterday, I had to get online. I'd stayed up way too late last night and didn't finally crash until about 7:30am this morning, so a "wake-and-bake" was just what I needed.
There was a nice turnout on Twitter for today's 420 session: killatrees420 was dry, but able to puff with his brother, and InkedDreams was on the road, but still Tweeted her attendance and included a photograph! Sadly, Mernahuana didn't make it today -- maybe next time!
I took a couple of bong rips and was sent over -- an hour later and I was still reeling from it. Didn't get shit done that whole time besides reading my RSS feeds. Boring. Should've at least put on some music...

420 #71 (AM) Late Night Work Break for "24: Redemption"
If you haven't noticed from previous posts (here, here and here, for example) that I'm a confirmed "24" addict, then you just haven't been paying attention! It's been a long day, no herb, working late, and my roommate got home and had an extra satchel for me -- hallelujah! My bowl around midnight reinvigorated me to work more, and when 3:30am rolled around, I was getting tired. I had completely forgotten about the special "24" movie "24: Redemption" had been on earlier, so when I finally realized my lack in focus I headed to Hulu to see if it was up! Yippee! The best part: it was damn near 4:20pm on the show when it hit 4:20am here! Should've tried to time that better, but who knew! If you'd care to watch, it's embedded below for your viewing pleasure!Sunday, November 23, 2008

420 #70 (PM) Twitter Lovefest at 4:20 Leads to Reliving Childhood with "The Electric Company" Clips
It was a regular lovefest on Twitter today at 4:20 this afternoon as I was joined by no less than three other Tweeters for the Magic Hour session, including the first person to contact me months ago regard reciprocal links for his site.
Tweeter ganjablue is a cannabis (marijuana) legalization activist and blogger who runs a website called Cannabis Freedom, providing news and analysis for recreational and medical marijuana users and activists. He's a regular Tweeter, and well worth your time to follow.

Also joining today were killatrees420 and GR8FL, a couple of folks I see on Twitter pretty regularly although haven't had tons of interaction with yet. GR8FL has supplied me many reblips and listens on blip.fm -- always a pleasure to be joined online. And, last but not least, the Shaggy to my Scooby, 420Thoughts.
I can't remember who tweeted it (sorry for the lack of credit), but amongst all the 420 session talk came a link to some footage from "The Electric Company" -- if you don't remember this show, then you are probably too young to remember the 1970's, but it was a great time to be a kid. I ended up searching endlessly for the stuff I remembered and came up with a few choice clips to share with you -- I can remember my Dad singing my the "Spiderman" theme song from the show to get me to eat my dinner! Hope you enjoy the clips from "The Electric Company" and the music I played during the session. Check out everything from the session below, and be sure to subscribe to the blog feed AND our new Blip.fm feed for your rss reader -- enjoy!

420 #69 (PM) Missed 4:20 Connections Finally Made on Twitter / Huge Thirteen Tune Playlist
It's nice when you finally get to connect with people you've been trying to meet but timing just hasn't worked in your favor. I've been working almost 24 hours straight as I write this post, and I was really in need for today's session to keep the fatigue away, and as luck would have it, two of the folks I've been trying to have a session with on Twitter were able to connect with me today.
420Thoughts is like my alter-ego on Twitter -- she's the Jekyll to my Hyde, the yin to my yang when it comes to 420 and Twitter. Her tune choices via blip.fm are always wonderful, as are her daily Tweets about cannabis and it's role in her life.
My other new connection via Twitter today was with InkedDreams, someone I've been going back and forth with trying to have a session. She's another pot-themed Tweeter as evidenced on her profile page, and always has good stuff to post, from quotes to links.
My Twitter 420 session "threesome" was accompanied by a playlist of tunes that just seemed to keep going and going. It was a nice long session for me today -- nothing too creative smoking-wise, just a nice full bowl in my pipe. Hope you enjoy the tunes from the session below, and be sure to subscribe to the blog feed AND our new Blip.fm feed for your rss reader -- enjoy!

420 #68 (AM) Late Night with Zappa Plus Pics With His Parents
It was turning out to be a fairly boring session tonight. No takers on Twitter, wasn't feeling up for the hassle of streaming, so I was just listening to tunes on blip.fm and reading my RSS feeds. And then a moment of synchronicity occured -- while I was listening to a version of "I Am the Walrus" by Frank Zappa, a pic of him with his parents came across one of my photo feeds in Google Reader. I knew that would be the heading for my post -- it was like the 420 Gods had descended upon me and said:420 Session Blogger, though you have had a desperately boring session tonight, with nothing of interest to blog about, you will now feel the force of Zappa and be guided by his light. Amen.
Thank you, thank you! Not only was the Zappa track that closed my session KILLING, but the photo I saw -- and the subsequent one I found from the same session -- was PRICELESS. Check out all the LIFE archive photos of Zappa, check the parents out below, and listen to the session Play List!

420 #67 (AM) Marijuana-Logues on Bill Maher / Late Night Blipping
Did any of you see Super High Me? That was actually my first exposure to Doug Benson, but I realized I'd heard his name before in connection with a show I used to walk by while living in New York -- The Marijuana-Logues. I never did get to see the show, but a friend recently sent me a link which went overlooked until today, and low and behold, The Marijuana-Logues on The Bill Maher Show! It's a nice seven-minute version of some of their bits -- well worth watching if you haven't seen it yet. I had another fun night playing music on blip.fm during the session, but couldn't get any takers to join online -- too early for the East Coast folks to join in, and all the West Coasters were already crashed. Enjoy the video and the music below!Wednesday, November 19, 2008
420 #66 (AM) Catching Up on Posts / German Blip.fm Smoking Partner
I've been working on the last few posts for the site over the last hour and finished just in time to get onto Twitter and see if I could find a smoking partner for 4:20. Here are the latest posts:- 420 #61 (AM) Discovering Blip.fm

420 #64 (PM) Quickie Between Gigs
420 #63 (AM) Ustream, Twitter Friends, and a Cool Kaleidoscope Video
I'm also experimenting with the possibility of streaming via Ustream.tv. I streamed tonight for the first time, but it was just me there watching it :-) I'll be doing it again -- watch the Twitter account and the blog for more about opportunities to join in.
I love connecting with people out there smoking at 4:20 via Twitter, even if they aren't physically here joining me. I connected with one of my East Coast twitter friends to join me for the session tonight, and he showed me an awesome video, perfect for the late-night stoner crowd. Dig these great kaleidoscope visions:
And of course, we had some music going. Lovin' that blip.fm! Do the Twitter posts from blip.fm annoy you? Should I just say "I'm DJing on blip.fm" and add the link when I do that? What would you prefer? Do you even fucking care? Let me know!

420 #62 (AM) Reliving Mandrill Dreams
I used to play in a great funk band called "What?" and we played a bunch of Mandrill covers in the band. As I'm still finding music on blip.fm, I thought I'd take a look for some and found some of the great classic funk-groove tracks they made in the 1970s. I started dancing in my apartment it got my juices flowing -- I NEVER dance. Ever! Trying to keep with the music listening mode and keep my TV off, here's what I listened to with my small but potent joint:Friday, November 14, 2008
420 #61 (AM) Discovering Blip.fm
I discovered blip.fm recently via some of the folks I follow in Twitter and boy am I enjoying it! Let me not just ping people about what music I'm checking via their site, but they can also listen to -- it lets you be a live DJ of sorts! I'll be adding this component to my 420 sessions for a while, or at least when it's appropriate. I don't spend as much time listening to music as I used to, and this will be a great opportunity to infuse some into my life. Enjoy -- check out blip.fm!Wednesday, November 12, 2008
420 #60 (AM) Visions of Legalized Marijuana
While trying to drum up some folks to join me for the 420 session on Twitter, I did a little searching around at http://search.twitter.com and found this awesome video depicting marijuana much in the same way we see Viagra and Cialis on television today. Hope it gets to be like this some day:

420 #59 (PM) Contest Winner Announced
It's 4:20pm here in the great Northwest as I write this entry and I'm smoking a beautiful blunt of what my guy is calling "Mango" -- mmm mmm good. At long last, we've got a winner to our contest. Congratulations to YouTube user DexTrane -- enjoy the blunt wraps, Honey Bear bong, and stealth pipe. Stay tuned for out next contest when we hit the 25% mark -- Session #105 -- and enjoy the winning video below! Thanks to all those who entered!Wednesday, November 5, 2008
420 #58 (PM) Celebrating with Seattle Marijuana Lingo Glossary
Everyone was celebrating at 4:20pm today, especially the folks hooking up around that time. I went to see my usual connect for fine herbs and we got into a discussion of his Seattle-local lingo for marijuana references, generally based on local sports figures. So here it is for you, in honor of the forty-fourth President of the United States:

420 #56 (AM) Election Day 420 Session
I can't sleep I'm so excited to vote today! I'm puffing to calm my nerves, but I know it's a moot point. I've been all over the internet following the opening of polls on the East Coast, and I've got a couple more here in the West before we get going. Regardless of who you are supporting, make your voice heard and GO VOTE! I bet you can't guess who I'll be casting my vote for...
